Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday

The event is part of Operation Medicine Cabinet Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

This just in from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office:

As part of our ongoing effort to crack down on illegal pill mills and prevent
prescription drug abuse, HCSO is taking part in the Operation Medicine Cabinet
Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Beginning Saturday September 29, 2012 at 10 a.m., the Hillsborough County
Sheriff's Office, along with the Temple Terrace Police Department , the Tampa
Police Department , the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hillsborough
County Anti-Drug Alliance, will collect unused or expired prescription
medications from citizens to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting
into the wrong hands.

The unused prescription drugs will be collected at several locations on
September 29th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Citizens will be able to drop off any
prescription medications they no longer use and can remain anonymous, with no
questions asked.

The Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance supports this take back initiative
and will provide volunteers and educational materials at the collection sites.

There are a number of collection sites near Lutz. Here are some of the closest:
