Small Business Saturday Deals in Lutz

Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 24 this year, two days after Thanksgiving. It is a day for everyone to support the small businesses their community thrives on.

This year, Lutz Patch is putting together a list of local Small Business Saturday deals. If you are a small business owner, leave your deal in the comments section below, and it will be added to the list. 

American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get exposure during the holiday season, when they might be otherwise overlooked. With retailers buzzing around the holidays, it is great to support local small businesses that rely on neighbors like us in order to thrive.

Last year, 100 million people nationwide participated in Small Business Saturday by shopping at locally owned stores to help boost the economy and their communities.

Here are the deals we've found so far in Lutz. Don't forget to add yours in the comments so we can add it to the list.

  • Annie's Garden Shed will host a small business fair at its location. Ten local vendors will set up shop at the Garden Shed all day to sell their wares, manager Helen Cantrell said. All vendors will be Lutz residents, she said. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 100 4th Ave. NW and will feature a variety of items for holiday shopping. 
  • Illuminated Publishing will be among the vendors represented at the event. Lutz resident Suzin Carr will have her books for sale. "We will be giving a 'how do my choices measure up?' ruler with every purchase that day and donating books to the pajama program, as well," Carr said.
  • Lutz-based Intensity Academy Sauces has boxed sets for $22 each, of $20 each for orders of four or more. The company founded by former Lutz Guv’na Michele Northrup has won more that 50 national awards, including No. 1 Ketchup in the Nation in the 2009 & 2010 Scovie Awards.
