Reader Spotlight: Lutz Resident Fights Blindness

Lutz Patch always invites readers to share their own news, events and photographs on the site. Not too long ago, Foundation Fighting Blindness took advantage of that open offer by posting some photographs on the Pics & Clips neighborhood gallery.

Pictured above is April Lufriu, also known as Mrs. World, a Tampa native and Lutz resident. Lufriu is seen here walking during the Tampa Bay 5k VisionWalk, which took place on Oct. 27 at Tampa’s Al Lopez Park. Proceeds from the event benefitted Foundation Fighting Blindness.

“Lufriu is determined to advance sight-saving research and awareness because she and her two children are affected with the vision-robbing disease retinitis pigmentosa,” the foundation wrote.
