You’ve heard of drive-thru restaurants, but what about drive-thru prayer?

Sonrise Worship Center in Lutz on the third Saturday of each month invites motorists to pull into their parking lot to get a little healing — and free coffee, too.

“It was birthed in the heart of one of our elders,” said Pastor Tyson Prater. “We offer them prayer and support, and they don’t even have to get out of their vehicles.”

Sonrise has been hosting drive-thru prayer for about a year. The list of prayer-seekers have included motorcyclists, a woman whose husband asked her to leave and parents of military children being deployed overseas.

“Just whatever the need is,” said Marc Jackson, who leads up Sonrise’s outreach ministries. “It’s different every single time.”
