Obama vs. Romney: Who Won the 3rd Debate?

The two presidential contenders faced off for a third and final debate Oct. 22. We want your take on how they did.

Did President Barack Obama walk away with the win in tonight’s debate? Perhaps you think former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney knocked it out of the park with his answers on foreign policy?

Whatever the case, Tampa Bay, we want to hear from you!

Did Obama’s stand on America's prominence in the world today ring true to you?

"America remains the one indispensable nation,” Obama said. “The world needs a strong America and it’s stronger now than when I came into office.”

Maybe you related more to Romney’s assertion that American effectiveness abroad has fallen?

“Nowhere in the world is America’s influence greater today than it was four years ago,” Romney said.

How do you think America is doing on the foreign policy front? Which candidate do you think won the final debate? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

FLGal if you can;t take the heat stay out of the kitchen, if you are tired of the Benghazi horror you have a choice turn off your tv, if you don't want to read about it then go to another site where everything is peachy but if you insist on staying here then better get used to it, we are going to talk about it, see the difference between us conservatives & you liberals are; we are not politicizing any of it we want to know what happened without lies & cover ups, we deserve to know this so something like this never happens again also I want to make it clear if my party did this I would be condemning them as well, nobody gets special treatment as for you denying these facts & accusing us of politicizing the murders all I can say is you are extremely wrong, how can you ignore the fact that your party really messed up, had they sent the soldiers instead of continually denying the requests they would be alive today & Obama would probably be a hero to all the voters who voted for him 4 years ago are now not voting for him, I would also like to call your attention to the following parents who lost their sons, look at what they have to say;

Anti Liberal, I have no problem with finding out the facts so mistakes are not repeated and please tell me where I denied these facts?? Fact your name is antiliberal kind of tells people you see what you want and that statement obviously proves it. Funny thing is, I voted for Romney and republican in Mass and in Fl also, so dont tell me about "my party" when you don't even know what my party is LOL... Problem I have is the sensationialism I see on Fox over and over and over, and making sure they keep this in the news every hour. I watched it for 4 hrs on Thursday and could not believe how many times it was repeated. I also have a problem when Bush's inaction before 9/11.. not once, but TWICE that we know of could have prevented over 3,000 people dying on 9/11 and there was no media coverage like there is over Benghazi. I believe the phrase fair and balanced should mean what it says!! So yes, I am seeing people politicizing this just as Stevens and Dohertys families have said. That was their words...and I couldnt agree more. That is the problem with this country and while we will never be the UNITED states of America again, esp when people call themselves the antiliberal. <smh>

Hmm - College cost took off in 1981.
http://seattletimes.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/uwelectioneye/files/2012/06/Tuition-compared-to-income.jpg As did healthcare cost. http://facts.kff.org/upload/jpg/enlarge/Growth%20in%20Total%20Health%20Expenditure%20Per%20Capita,%20%20U.S.%20and%20Selected%20Countries,%201970-2008.jpg As did our national debt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Federal_Debt_as_Percent_of_GDP_by_President.jpg What about our incarceration rate? http://timenolonger.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/chart-incarceration1920-2006.jpg What happened in 1981? Oh yeah we started a 30 year period in which republicans had extraordinary policy influence. Vote Democratic, or don't be surprised when these numbers get worse. Did Obama raise the debt during the 2nd worst financial collapse in history, of course he did. But you can't blame him for the debt previously, and if spending and revenue were froze when he took office out debt would have increased 4 plus trillion.

You know why I am anti liberal, because many liberals who are on these posts always resort to name calling, bashing & personal attacks, I have been called a liar, a cheater, a paranoid schizo, been accused of twisting facts, being stupid & worst of all being a called a racist plus many other foul names just because those liberals didn't agree with my views or the factual links that I posted, when I signed up with patch my screen name was Free Spirit then when the attacks from liberals started I changed my name to GoodBye Obama Welcome Romney & the attacks continued finally I got fed up with it so for the last time I changed my name to Anti-Liberal & it will stay so now you know the reason why I chose this name.
As for your views on Fox News I believe they are fair & balanced, they report facts & CNN, Huffington Post, ABC News which have the liberal agendas best interest kept on pushing the lie blaming a stupid video for the attacks, you'll also notice the parents of murdered team chose Fox News to tell the world their heartache of losing their sons & not knowing the full story of what happened, think about that FLGal, how would you like to be in those parents position of losing your child???

The republicans watched Iraqi trucks haul what could of been wmd for 4 months to Syria . Bush knew this and it was reported on Fox so called News . So the republicans sent in our troops after watching this and the reps acted like it was an emergency for our troops to go in . They sent our troops in without the equipment they needed , one example is the steel sheilds on Humvees and jeeps and so forth. Some of our troops had to go to local scrap yards to get metal to weld onto their trucks to protect them from machine gun fire. This is fact ask some who went and look it up . . How many troops got killed going into Iraq for daddy Bush , not to liberate the people but to take out Sadamm for daddy Bush . And when we got into Iraq guess what ??? DUHHHHHHHHH no WMD . Afetr watching the tractor trailers hauling back and forth to Syria ? Fox even mentioned they might have wmd on them ! People forget its the republicans that get us into all the wars we have had. American oil companies are now pumping oil in Iraq , the reason we went in for . And now the reps are doing all they can to discredit Obama over Libya . Your not fooling anyone you republican war mongers

As for your thoughts on 9-11-2001; here's 3 links that sheds a light on that horrible day;
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/07/29/bush-says-slow-reaction-on-911-was-deliberate-decision/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/sep/04/september-11-schoolchildren-george-bush That horrible day will always be a part of us, I remember that day, my family called me they were frantic about was going on, I didn't know anything about it, my tv wasn't working so I went to a hotel lobby, watched the horror, it was shocking, our reaction was disbelief but when we saw the bodies falling from WTC that's when we started crying & cried for months then tears turned to anger towards Bin Ladin, I don't know where you were but there was tons of media coverage & eleven years later the media coverage still continues...

If these comments represents a fair sampling of the people and the polls are anywhere near being accurate, it is obvious that on November 7, approximately 50% of the population is going to be very unhappy.
It will be a sad day in the history of our country.
Elizabeth October 28, 2012 at 07:30 pm
Jack, of all that you have said, this is the only comment that I can agree with you on.
Elizabeth October 28, 2012 at 07:59 pm
A huge issue that has not been discussed is a womans right to choose. Personally, I do not understand why women AND men - OF BOTH PARTIES - are not standing up for womens rights..........if elected, the Republicans will take away womens reproductive choices and even criminalize them. Everyone seems to think that it will not happen to them - but what about their daughters, grandaughters, or friends? Husbands & partners would definitely be affected, financially & emotionally, by women losing their right to choose. Regarding rape, when a woman has the horrible experience of rape, why put her through another horrible experience of carrying the rapist's child? Noone's personal faith or religious beliefs should be demanded of the entire population. WHY ARE WOMEN NOT STANDING STRONG AGAINST VOTING FOR THEIR OWN SUPPRESSION ? ? ?
Gary Price October 28, 2012 at 09:07 pm
Elizabeth - Here is some information I have come across and my own personal viewpoint. First, women should keep the rights they have today, period.
The larger issue is unintended pregnancy and contraception. I say "larger issue" because if the proper actions are taken I feel abortions will be reduced. How can someone be pro-life and not pro-contraception? You personally may or may not be pro-contraception, but I believe the main difference between our two political parties is astonishing. The data below provides very clear evidence that supplying contraception, by any means possible, helps prevent the heinous act of abortion. Check out this report on unintended pregnancy in the US, from the Guttmacher Institute. Pay attention to the entire report, but specifically the third chart. If republicans want to reduce abortions the clear answer is contraception to the poor. http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/FB-Unintended-Pregnancy-US.html Guttmachers Abortion site. http://www.guttmacher.org/sections/abortion.php
Gary Price October 28, 2012 at 09:09 pm
Note: To the anti Guttmacher reader,
Yes, I know Guttmacher was part of planned parenthood, they split up in the seventies. Today, it is a stand alone entity and completely independent. Yes, Guttmacher still received grant money from planned parenthood (as of 2009), about 1% of their total budget. That's not a typo, one percent. Fact: Countries without the ideological divide, free contraception, and robust education perform way better than we do, regarding abortion. That's what Guttmacher is trying to promote, fewer abortions and improved overall health. Access to contraception and education is the key. Across the globe these are the two factors that have had the most positive impact. This video is around 25 minutes long, but a great resource. Melinda Gates discusses providing access to contraception in the third world. http://www.ted.com/talks/melinda_gates_let_s_put_birth_control_back_on_the_agenda.html To me this all means more evidence to vote democratic.
Elizabeth October 28, 2012 at 09:39 pm
Judith.........I don't know what you read about AARP.......but what I have just read on their website is that AARP supports Obamacare: "AARP Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on the Affordable Care Act. AARP is pleased that the Supreme Court found the critically important provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to be constitutional. This landmark legislation is already improving the health and financial security of our members and all Americans."
I agree with FLGAL.......Obamacare is a method that is cost-effective and provides citizens with protection from insurance company abuses. I imagine that the insurance companies are salivating at the prospect of being in the driver's seat once again should Romney be elected.
FLGAL4757 October 28, 2012 at 11:24 pm
Anti Liberal, I have seen so many racist and horrible comments from republicans so please its not just the liberals doing the name calling. Actually look at the comments coming from Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter etc. Its disgusting and shows no respect for our President. Dont you think the terrorists aren't eating that crap up as it shows the country being torn apart?. When 9/11 happened, no one went around 24/7 saying well was Bush warned ahead of time like we have with Obama? Instead we all rallied around him and we became united. However when the attack happened in Benghazi, before any details were out, Mitt ran on tv to take advantage of it. Even in his infamous 47% video, he talked about how if a Iranian hostage type thing happened he would jump right on it to take advantage of it. How presidential is that?? I'm sorry, if I didnt know what Mitt was capable of personally, that would have been a BIG red flag on what his motives are. What kind of man would say something like that! We should have been uniting behind our president but that would never happen as the republicans gathered on the night of his inauguration and stated that they would do whatever it took to make sure they thwarted anything he tried to accomplish thus ensuring he was a one term President. So when you want to place blame on why this country has not rebounded from the recession quickly, be sure you look at your own party beginning with Paul Ryan who was at that meeting.
Freedom October 28, 2012 at 11:54 pm
You know something, I disagree with you because you lack compassion you are blaming everybody else but you won't own up to the murders which is Obama's fault, you won';t even mention the parents who lost their sons, what is it truth hurts??
Judith Lundy October 29, 2012 at 12:56 am
Elizabeth, that is what I was saying. AARP supports Obamacare. I was disagreeing with a Republican that posted.
Michael D. October 29, 2012 at 01:56 pm
Jack,
It was entirely Bush's fault, just like it isn't entirely Obama's fault. The recession is global. We can't blame either man for issues beyond their control.
Michael D. October 29, 2012 at 02:07 pm
Anti-Liberal,
First, Fox News is selling an agenda just like MSNBC. It is just a conservative agenda. If you don't believe me just follow their public corporate postings. Their president states they only sell about 1.5 hours of factual news in a 24 hour span. The rest is opinions that is being sold to their buyers (watchers) because that is the product they want to consume. They do not want the facts just the truths/opinion that fit their own idea of america. Second, it's not a lack of compassion to this terrorist attacks. But a lot of people keep on bringing Libya saying they knew ahead of time. As we learned in the 9-11 report Bush knew Months ahead of time of the attacks. But we are choosing to play politics with one situation and not the other. It is very hypocritical. A lot of men and women deal with the information daily. We do not know the full story, and we won't for a while. For us to play politics with less than a quarter of the information is unfortunite. Both sides are doing it, but it is a fair point. Why play politics with one terriorist attack and not the other.
Joseph Robert October 29, 2012 at 02:25 pm
Jack, Have you taken your meds?
Michael D. October 29, 2012 at 02:32 pm
correction: It wasn't entirely Bush's fault.
FLGAL4757 October 29, 2012 at 05:25 pm
Again the attacks anti liberal.. first you think I am a liberal so you put me down, now you say I lack compassion. You don't even know me, I have worked as a hospice nurse and volunteered with hospice doing respite care. I have attended my patients funerals as I was deeply affected. So please instead of attacking people, try looking within yourself. Time and i again I have said it was a tragedy and I can only imagine what the families have gone thru. I know what families go thru during times like this as I lived in Mass during 9/11, which might have been prevented, and if you happen to remember most of the planes came out of Boston and were filled with people from there. So spare me.
FLGAL4757 October 29, 2012 at 05:31 pm
Anti Liberal, next time you want to say someone lacks compassion, try looking at your own candidate. This is stance on FEMA. Mitt Romney: "Federal Disaster Relief For Tornado And Flood Victims Is ‘Immoral,’ ‘Makes No Sense At All’ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/28/mitt-romney-fema_n_2036198.html he stated in the debate he would shut down FEMA. Of course he would, as I learned down here that the rich dont even carry insurance on their mansions. One told me it was not worth it as the premiums are too high so if something happens they will just rebuild and save that money each year. So I really hope you don't need flood insurance either as I am sure since that is a gov't program, he will do away with that. So have fun putting in a claim when your home gets flooded. Yeah go ahead and vote for Romney and pray that you never need help Anti Liberal. see how you feel then!
Linda October 29, 2012 at 06:22 pm
Anti-Liberal, don't you have a job to go to, or do you spend all your time in the Doctors office.
Samuel Clemens October 29, 2012 at 06:47 pm
Of course AARP supports it:
http://waysandmeans.house.gov/uploadedfiles/aarp_report_final_pdf_3_29_11.pdf (see that .gov........that means it's from a GOVT website, it's ok to click on)
FLGAL4757 October 30, 2012 at 08:12 pm
Another great article discussing how Romney feels FEMA should be disbandeed and feels states should handle things or the private industry. Course if your state is bankrupt like some..oh well! Thing is Gov Romney is still campaigning but trying to pretend he isnt. Unbelievable. He cancels the event but then tells people to show up and bring a canned good for the victims of Sandy. Sadly the Red Cross put a lil damper on his party when they said they dont need the used clothing or canned goods he is collecting and what they need is money and blood. Just another example of his being out of touch! And not checking ahead of time to what is really needed. If you have followed any disasters and given donations, you know they dont need those items. Also the article talks about a natural disaster in Mass and how he was no where to be found and didnt even return their calls..guess that was year he was already campaigning for President and wasnt in Mass more than 50% of the time. Awesome job Governor!! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/29/mitt-romney-disaster-response-massachusetts-_n_2041142.html

these people don't know they are spelling incorrectly. somtimes it's typos, but overall the education of the american people is very poor. we look like idiots, because the majority are idiots. look at just how almost half the adult population was too stupid to see that ronmey would have been a disaster for this country. there people are the backbone of this country, but their education is very poor. we need better schools.

Great Photo! Is that the setup we'll be supplying to first grade teachers nationwide? Is the NRARead More gonna chip in with a few mags? Some bullets? Body bags what ? If the black helicopters do come for you your little ak-47 + all the bullets you can afford on your little paycheck just ain't gonna do the trick. and just who are you gonna shoot at? Your kid or the one down the street that just joined the service a few days, weeks, months, or years ago? You know that kid , he's the one that wanted to Serve his country. Is he the one you want to shoot? Is she the one that scares you? Fact is you and me just don't need these kinds of vicious killing machines.

you anti-gunners are so full of never mind I am old enough to remember before there were over 40Read More thousand gun laws on the books and Americans didn't have the kind of problems that we have now not until the government got envolved did we start having all the crime that we have now. Question if the almost 40 thousand gun laws haven't made things better maybe it time to look some where else beside the government and the dumbing down of American youth. Yeah they got a degree in some sort of liberal art that was suppose to make a difference now we have a bunch of educated drug dealers but here's the stickler they just think their educated. the individual with the common sense is the one making the money and they weren't government educated with faux degrees.
