Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Livingston Avenue Crash

The accident took place around 2:18 p.m. Dec. 5.

A Tampa man has life threatening injuries following a motorcycle crash that occurred yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Livingston Avenue and Sinclair Hills Road.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Joseph Damian, 48, of Tampa was riding his 2008 Harley Davidson north on Livingston around 2:18 p.m. when he failed to see that traffic in front of him was stopped at Sinclair Hills Road.

Damian applied the brakes and skidded, but failed to avoid striking a 2010 Honda driven by Luther Hutchison, 71, of Lutz. Damian, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle and struck a 1998 Nissan driven by Lee Jalovecky, 25, of Titusville. The motorcycle crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit the side of a 1996 Toyota Corolla driven by Sabrina S. Belgrave, 21, of Land O’ Lakes.

Damian suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. He remains in critical condition, the sheriff’s office reports. None of the other drivers were injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
