Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies found the wreckage of Harold MacManus' plane on Feb. 25. It crashed off Ehren Cutoff Road in Land O' Lakes in the Cypress Creek Preserve. The crash scene is about two miles into the preserve.
The sheriff’s office was told earlier that the plane possibly few out of Tampa North Airport and went down sometime the night of Feb. 24. A relative of the pilot contacted authorities after they hadn't heard from him after takeoff.
It is unclear at this time what caused MacManus' plane to crash. The investigation will be turned over to the National Transportation and Safety Board and Federal Aviation Authority.
