Classical Preparatory School, a new charter school that will be located in Land O' Lakes and open in the fall of 2014, recently launched its website, www.classicalprep.org.

The website serves as a resource for information about the school’s program, including FAQs and a Letter of Interest form for prospective students. “This is the first chance for the general public to get a look at the school and see what it’s all about,” said Anne Corcoran, board president. “Since it’s the first tuition-free classical school in Florida, most people are not aware of the dynamic and compelling education other schools like it around the nation are providing.  As parents, we became interested in bringing this type of learning to our area because of the philosophy and results of these schools.  It’s hard to look at a Brooklyn Latin, Washington Latin, Great Hearts Academies, or Ridgeview Classical and not be inspired.”

Since the approval of Classical Prep’s application by the District School Board of Pasco County a little less than a year ago, the school has been in involved in months of strategic planning to prepare for its opening in the fall of 2014.

The new website is just one of the many areas which the school is ramping up in anticipation of serving students.

“The information included on the website at this stage is aimed at ensuring anyone visiting will find the resources they need to determine if this type of education is a good fit for them,” Corcoran said.  “We hope that people will take the time to visit, look around, and see what the school is all about.”
