Blind Slugger Connects Bat With Ball in 'Beep Ball' Game

GFWC Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club member Marsha Gibson recently participated in the Lighthouse for the Blind "Beep Ball" baseball game fundraiser.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club member Marsha Gibson recently participated in the Lighthouse for the Blind “Beep Ball” baseball game fundraiser. Gibson and her fellow blind teammates faced off against sighted — but blindfolded! — celebrities, according to a GFWC news release. 

How do you hit a ball you can’t see? Participants had to use their sense of hearing to whack the ball as it came beeping towards them.

“Marsha was loudly cheered on by her fellow club members who came out to support her,” the GFWC noted.
