Lutz Little League Did 'Awesome Job' Hosting State Championship

Florida District 25 and Lutz Little League hosted the state of Florida Little League 11/12 championship at Oscar Cooler Park.

Lutz was the site of some heated competition this past weekend.

Florida District 25 and Lutz Little League hosted the state of Florida Little League 11/12 championship from July 26-29. Taking Oscar Cooler Park in Lutz were eight teams from around the state, according to District 25: North West Leon, Martin County North, Deltona, Plant City, East Orange National, Sarasota American, Greater Dunedin, and North Springs.

Coming out on top was Martin County North, which will head to regionals in Georgia on Thursday (Aug. 1). If successful there, players will be on to Pennsylvania for the World Series on Aug. 15.

“A big THANK YOU to Lutz Little League for an awesome job hosting the state tournament!” District 25 wrote on its Facebook page. “Every visiting team said you did a great job, especially after that rain on Friday! District 25 thanks you, too!”
