Hot Rods is a family-owned, country-style restaurant run by Hot Rod and his family. Debbie is the general manager, and is married to James Taylor Curtis, a local country singer.

The menu contains such items as the 15-pound All American Biggest Burger (give them one day's notice to prepare this), grilled Spam (which is also called "redneck prime rib"), a giant turkey drumstick, and smoked bat served with cornbread pudding. More typical country favorites are catfish, BBQ ribs, wings (original smoked or Cajun) and grilled meat loaf. Salads such as the Swamp Salad contain 12 kinds of greens. The Rodeo Salad has Feta cheese, olives, tomatoes and onions and is topped with either chicken or pork. Country drinks, like Sweet Mud Slice (Barq's root beer, chocolate syrup and a mound of cherries) are available. The menu is a blend of tradition Louisiana and Florida cuisines.

The ambiance is strictly country. On entering Hot Rods, you step into a slice of Florida's past. Little General Store goods are for sale, including old time candy, gag gifts, Hot Rod tee shirts and BBQ sauce.

Dine inside or sit on the patio and play a game of checkers. Catering is also available. Hot Rods is open Wednesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. A produce stand with fresh fruits and vegetables is also on the premises.
