Bakas Equestrian Center Helps Disabled Find Strength
The equestrian center is hosting its annual golf tournament in hopes to raise funds for thousands of disabled riders.
For the past 25 years Bakas Equestrian Center has been helping disabled people realize healthier more mobile lives. Funded and operated by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, the program provides group riding lessons, trail rides, carriage riding, parties and special events for the physically impaired and developmentally delayed public. Riders have the opportunity to compete in a local Special Olympics, which are hosted at Bakas Equestrian Center each year. The center is located at 11510 Whisper Lake Trail in the Highland Park area of Hillsborough County.
