'Give With Target on Facebook' Helps Schools Earn Big Money

Target is giving schools up to $10,000 each in gift cards. All you have to do is vote.

With a click of a button, you can help a Land O' Lakes school earn money for books and supplies. Target will donate up to $10,000 in gift cards to K-12 schools nationwide, up to a total of $2.5 million, as part of its Give with Target on Facebook promotion. You can vote once per week for an eligible school, and each time a school recieves 25 votes, it will earn a $25 gift card. Voting ends on Sept. 8 at 11:59 p.m. To vote, go to the Give with Target on Facebook page and enter the name of the school in the search box. Click, vote and done! Hearing Master OKs Plans for Charter School

Learning Gate Community School plans to build a second campus for students in grades 6-12.

Learning Gate may soon welcome more students. On June 4, Hillsborough County land-use hearing officer Steve Luce recommended approval of a rezoning proposal to allow Learning Gate Community School to build a new campus on 62 acres off Sunset Lane east of U.S. 41, according to The Tampa Tribune. The school would serve students in grades six through twelve. The recommendation is scheduled for consideration by the Hillsborough County Commission in July, the Tribune reports. The school, which emphasizes an environmental curriculum, was recently named a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School. Learning Gate serves children from Lutz, Land O' Lakes, New Tampa, Carrollwood, Westchase, Temple Terrace and beyond, according to school …
