Element 54 Salon A Cut Above the Rest

The shop on State Road 54 opened May 20. Customer service is the name of the game, owners say.

Element 54 offers lots of services: haircuts, coloring, manicures and pedicures for men and women, keratin treatments, waxing and blow outs.

But owners of the new shop say they are also offering something less tangible — an experience.

“No matter how little or how much you spend, you still deserve a high level of customer service,” said Trisha Jordan, president and co-owner. “We really wanted to make sure we create an atmosphere that brought consumer service to another level.”

Element 54 is not in the business of simply churning out freshly coiffed heads. Customers can grab a refreshment when they come in such as trail mix or a wine. Co-owner Shanda Baker put it this way: “It’s more a pampering experience.”

Element 54, which opened May 20, is not just for the ladies. There is a separate barbershop area where men can receive a haircut, a shave, manicure or pedicure, and a wax.

“(Guys) are taking an added interest in their overall appearance and look,” Jordan said. “But they don’t want to do so in an atmosphere where they would feel too girly.”

Baker, who has nine years of experience cutting hair, and her parents, Sam and Rose, originally came to Jordan for her consulting skills.

“I worked for Paul Mitchell, L’Oreal and other companies,” Jordan explained. “The more things started to develop, the more I wanted to get involved in a partnership role, and so I came on board as the fourth partner.”

Haircuts start at $24 for men, $34 for women.

The salon at 21776 State Road, which Jordan calls a “one-stop shop,” is holding a grand opening from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 4.
